During 2001-2002 I lived on Ingmarsö in the arcipelago of Stockholm where I attended a boatbuildning school. Me and my mate Dan builded two boats. He got Ekan - Stjärnan, see further down, and I got Jaktkanoten - Yrla.
Yrla is a so called "hunting canoe" (Jaktkanot). It was used in the arcipelago of Blekinge in the beginning of 1900 for hunting seabirds. It took me and Dan aprox. 1200 hours to get the boat finished. The hull is made of pine, the keel of oak, the mast of spruce and the deck is made of teak and mahogny. The sails I sewed myself on Albatross sailloft. I made the mast a bit higher than the original.

In the autumn of 2007 I found a very cheap Minette and couldent resist buying. Its a really small and simple handled yacht with a minimal cabin with two berths. Its light weight of just 600 kg makes the boat easy trailable after a small car. Myn has sailnumber 115 and was likely builded in 1975-1977.

Dehler 29
In the spring of 2010 I bought a Dehler 29 in Hyeres just east of Marseille in France. During 11 weeks I sailed the boat around Spain up to Sweden. Its was quite a tuff and long journey.. The D29 was first launched in 1998. Until 2009 some 250 boats have been builded. Due to economical problems the yard was overtaken by the Hanse-group in 2009 and is now under their roof. The D29 is still builded as a simpler and cheaper MkII-model. The yacht was (and is) delivered with three different kind of keel-options. The standard-keel have a draft of 1.58 cm, the racing-keel (which I have) have a draft of 1.80 cm. There is also a shallow-keel version whos draft is 1,22 cm.

Starboat
The Starboat was designed in 1911 by Francis Sweisguth. In 1932 it was chosen as an Olympic class and has been ever since except for 1976. The boat has very much sailarea compared to its light deplacement of 670 kg. Me and my friend Per owned the Lillia-Star Ciccolina no 6792 for a couple of years.

The French yard Chantiers Beneteau is the builder of this 26 footer. Groupe Finot designed the yacht in 1994. When the first boat was launched in 1995 it was called First 260 Spirit. During 2004 the boat changed name to First 25.7 to fit into Beneteaus First-band. 25.7 has a sleek hull, a pivoting keel, twin rudders, a high aspect sail plan (9/10 rig) and inboard diesel-engine. The interior features a spacious saloon with 2 benchseat/berths convertible to double berths on either side of the large table. To port of the companionway there is a galley and to starboard you find the navigation table. There is a independent forward cabin with a separate WC. The woodwork is in pear tinted Mukali. Until today there are 500 260 Spirit built and some 100 First 25.7. With the pivoting keel and liftable rudders the 25.7s draft is reduced to 0.85 m. Perfect to enter small natural harbours in the arcipelago. With a deplacement of 2150 kg the yacht is quite heavy for its size. I owned First 25.7 no 34 during 2005 but due to some problems with the boat I returned to my Västbris.
